The Zebu breed, sometimes known as humped cattle or Brahman, is originally from South Asia and is characterized by a fatty hump on their shoulders, droopy ears and a large dewlap. They are adapted for tolerating hot, humid weather being popular in tropical countries around the world.
Zebu cattle are often used as draught, dairy, beef and even for by products such as hides. They are one of the smallest species of cattle in the world, the adults reaching a height just over a meter. They also have half the weight of a typical cow and yield less meat. Their colors can be brown, black or white. Another great quality of the Zebu is that they are disease and parasite resistant.
