The Runner duck is a lightweight duck that reaches maturity at about 4 -4.5 lbs for the drake and 3.5 - 4 lbs for the duck. They have a long and sleek body with an upright carriage. The Runner Ducks are very good at egg laying; they average between 150-180 eggs per year.
Native to Malaysia the Runner duck does not waddle, they run and are very active and constantly search for vegetation and insects to eat. They are easily excitable in groups but can be wonderful pets and get along with other breeds very well.
The females tend to be noisy when it’s time to eat.
