quarter-horseThe Quarter horse is an American breed that has a strong reputation for its ability to sprint short distances. The name was inspired by the fact that this horse can outdistance other breeds in races of a quarter mile or less. Quarter horses have been recorded going as fast as 55 miles per hour.

Today, they are the most popular breed of horses in the United States and are used as a race horse as well as in rodeos, horse shows and on ranches.

Quarter horses have a small, refined head with a strong, heavily muscled body. There are two accepted body types, the stock type and the hunter or racing type.

We always strongly encourage you to thoroughly check out each animal breeder you are interested in purchasing from before you make your final decision. With over 25,000 different breeders listed on this website, it is impossible for us to be able to vouch for every one! And while we do our best to ensure only the top farmers are listed here, it's always best to double check yourself.
