The Lionhead Rabbit is a relatively new rabbit breed named for the mane of long hair standing up in a fringe around the head like a lion. Their mane is soft think wool, with a crimping effect and at least 2-3 inches in length, forming a full circle around the head, standing up in a fringe around the head and extending to a 'bib' on the chest running into a "V" at the back of the neck.
The Lionhead Rabbit is available in a lot of colors; their body is small, compact and rounded and weighs around 3 pounds. Their average lifespan is around 8 years but that depends heavily on the care they received.
Lionheads are generally good-natured rabbits, although lively and often timid, they tend to be easily frightened and may become aggressive.
