A domestic rabbit, the Angora breed is bred for their long, soft wool. It’s one of the oldest breeds of domestic rabbits originating in Turkey. Their hair is used for the famous Angora wool which is silky and softer than cashmere.
These rabbits need to be handled carefully but they are usually kind and docile. They need constant grooming to prevent matting. Their diet must be considered carefully to prevent wool block.
The accepted weight for English Angoras is between 4.4-7.7 lbs and their colors can be: ruby-eye white, pointed white, self, shaded, agouti, broken. They have “fur” all over their face, ears and feet, excepting the nose.
The English Angora is the smallest of the Angora breed and is most commonly used as a pet and for show.
