DelawareDelaware chickens are a breed that originated in the United States in the 1940s, primarily for production of broilers. Today however, they are critically endangered since the broiler industry is dominated Cornish/Rock broilers. Its plumage is a unique pattern, making them a popular show breed.

Delaware chickens are only found in a single color, a white body, with light black barring on the ends of the hackle, wings and tails. They are a solid bird that quickly matures and aside from quality meat, it also has good egg production of large brown eggs. While Delaware chickens have a calm temperament, they are not known for being a friendly breed.

We always strongly encourage you to thoroughly check out each animal breeder you are interested in purchasing from before you make your final decision. With over 25,000 different breeders listed on this website, it is impossible for us to be able to vouch for every one! And while we do our best to ensure only the top farmers are listed here, it's always best to double check yourself.
