CornishCornish chickens were originally known as Indian Game in England and today are most recognized as the parent stock in the broiler industry. They are commonly bred with White Rock chickens to produce the quick growing birds that reach slaughter weight at 5 -7 weeks of age. Purebred Cornish roosters can reach up to 15 pounds, with hens reaching 8 pounds. There are multiple colors within the Cornish breed, including white, white laced red, buff and dark.

Cornish chickens are strong and muscular with close, tight feathers that give the appearance they are smaller than they actually are. Cornish chickens are moderate egg producers with hens laying a medium sized egg. They are a friendly and very energetic breed.

We always strongly encourage you to thoroughly check out each animal breeder you are interested in purchasing from before you make your final decision. With over 25,000 different breeders listed on this website, it is impossible for us to be able to vouch for every one! And while we do our best to ensure only the top farmers are listed here, it's always best to double check yourself.
