chinese-geeseThe Chinese goose is a breed of domestic goose that is descendant of the wild swan goose. They can be differentiated from wild swan geese by their larger bodies and pronounced basal knob at the upper side of their bill. The knob is often used for gender differentiation since it is more pronounced on males than females. There are two accepted color varieties, brown and white.

Chinese geese are one of the best goose breeds for egg production. They can average 50 – 60 eggs per breeding season, which is approximately February to June. There have been reports of Chinese geese laying up to 100 eggs per season also. They are a close cousin of the African Goose, sharing many characteristics.

We always strongly encourage you to thoroughly check out each animal breeder you are interested in purchasing from before you make your final decision. With over 25,000 different breeders listed on this website, it is impossible for us to be able to vouch for every one! And while we do our best to ensure only the top farmers are listed here, it's always best to double check yourself.
