checked-giant-rabbitThe Checkered Giant Rabbit is a breed developed in Europe and is commonly known there as “Giant Papillon”. They are considered show rabbits but have also been used for meat production. They can weigh up to 12 lbs or more.

The Checkered Giant rabbits are distinguished by their defined markings. A difference in markings exists between a European and an American Checkered giant. They have a white coat with black or blue colored markings, and do well with a diet of rabbit pellets and timothy hay. They have a slender, muscular build with an arched back and short hair.

They’re known to have a docile temper and are playful and energetic, needing plenty exercise. It’s beneficial to note that they do not do well in high or low temperatures.

We always strongly encourage you to thoroughly check out each animal breeder you are interested in purchasing from before you make your final decision. With over 25,000 different breeders listed on this website, it is impossible for us to be able to vouch for every one! And while we do our best to ensure only the top farmers are listed here, it's always best to double check yourself.
