burroPrimarily found in Latin America, the Burro is a small donkey that has been used primarily as a pack animal and the largest population of them can be found in Mexico. The word “burro” means donkey in Spanish but it is also used to refer to the untamed donkeys found in Arizona, California, Oregon, Utah, Texas and Nevada.

The Mexican Burro is grey in color with male Burros weighing at an average of 269lbs., and females around 247 lbs. They are between 34-47 inches in height. The Burros in USA tend to be larger than the Mexican ones and they are all characterized by being patient, slow and sure-footed to the point of obstinacy and “stupidity”.

We always strongly encourage you to thoroughly check out each animal breeder you are interested in purchasing from before you make your final decision. With over 25,000 different breeders listed on this website, it is impossible for us to be able to vouch for every one! And while we do our best to ensure only the top farmers are listed here, it's always best to double check yourself.
