The Beveren rabbit originated in Antwerp Belgium, and are considered one of the oldest and largest fur rabbit breeds. The original rabbits were blue but their coats can be white, black, brown and lilac. There’s also a variety named “Pointed Beveren” which has white tipped hairs.
The Beveren rabbits are a large and rare breed known to be gentle, clean, smart and energetic animals that tend to explore the outdoors. They have a dense and glossy coat with a gentle rollback. Their fur can grow up to 1.5 inches. Having a mandolin shaped body; bucks can grow to weight between 8-11 lbs and does 10-12 lbs, producing large litters. These rabbits grow fast and does are docile and good mothers.
