arabian-horseThe oldest known breed of riding horse, The Arabian, evolved from the ancient deserts of the Middle East. For thousands of years, Arabians lived among the desert tribes of the Arabian Peninsula, bred by the Bedouins as war mounts for long treks and quick attacks into enemy camps. In this desert environment, they developed large lung capacity and incredible endurance.

Arabians stand between 14.1- 15.1 hands tall. A common myth is that they are not strong because of their size; however, the Arabian horse is noted for a greater density of bone than other breeds, short cannons, sound feet, and a broad, short back, all of which give the breed a physical strength comparable to many taller animals.

Now one of the most popular breeds in America, the Arabians' incredible energy, intelligence and gentle disposition allow riders to excel in most equine sports and activities.

We always strongly encourage you to thoroughly check out each animal breeder you are interested in purchasing from before you make your final decision. With over 25,000 different breeders listed on this website, it is impossible for us to be able to vouch for every one! And while we do our best to ensure only the top farmers are listed here, it's always best to double check yourself.
