The White Park is a rare breed of horned cattle descending from ancient herds that used to be hunted in Great Britain. The cattle are moderately framed with long bodies and white with colored points including the ears, nose, rims of eyes, teats and feet, excluding the tail. Their horns grow forward and upwards in a graceful curve.
Mature White Park bulls weigh approximately 2,100 lbs. while mature cows weigh around 1,400 lbs. They are a large, slow growing breed known for their longevity. They yield high quality lean meat and are resilient, and are known for preferring to graze on coarse and rough herbage. They are also accustomed to be outside of shelter and non-intensive production.
White Park cows are known to have no birthing difficulties, docility and longevity. They have been used for draught, milk and meat, but most recently they are noted as a superior quality of textured, marbled, low cholesterol kind of beef.
