The Silver Appleyard Miniature is a bantam breed of domestic duck that is often kept as pets. The Silver Appleyard Miniature was developed by Tom Bartlett in the 1980s as a replica of the famous egg laying Silver Appleyard breed. They are lighter than their traditional counterparts, being only 1/3 the size of a standard Silver Appleyard.
This breed is completely separate from the Silver Bantam which was developed by Reginald Appleyard. Besides its enjoyable aesthetics, the Silver Appleyard Miniature is a hardy and lively breed as well as a good layer and excellent parents. They are bred to very specific standards, with no variety within the breed.
