This rabbit is used in meat production more than any other single breed worldwide and also makes a very attractive show animal. They weigh between 9 – 12lbs, making them one of the largest breeds. Their body is long enough to pack in plenty of meat, but not so long as to be out of balance with the depth of body. The ears are balanced in length with the head and body. A New Zealand should be very firm of flesh.
