BrangusThe Brangus is a breed of cattle that was developed to take advantage of the superior characteristics of both the Brahman and Angus cattle. They were originally developed at the USDA Experimental Station in Louisiana as early as 1912. Today, the breed has been stabilized at 3/8 Brahman and 5/8 Angus and is always solid black and naturally polled.

From the Brahman, Brangus inherited their disease resistance, hardiness and maternal instincts. They inherited a superior carcass quality and milking ability from the Angus cattle. Brangus cattle have proven extremely tolerant in both heat and cold climates as well as insect and disease repellent.

We always strongly encourage you to thoroughly check out each animal breeder you are interested in purchasing from before you make your final decision. With over 25,000 different breeders listed on this website, it is impossible for us to be able to vouch for every one! And while we do our best to ensure only the top farmers are listed here, it's always best to double check yourself.
