appaloosa-horseThe Appaloosa is an American horse known for its unique spotted pattern and diverse genetic background. They display a distinctive leopard spot pattern and it’s common to have molting skin around their eyes and muzzle, as well as a white sclera. The Appaloosa horse is usually between 14.2-16 hands. Their average weight is from 950 to 1200 lbs.

A versatile breed, quick, compact, and mild mannered, Appaloosas are used in a variety of equestrian disciplines and have appeared in a number of Hollywood films. Today, the Appaloosa is one of the most popular breeds in the United States; it was named the official stock horse of Idaho in 1975. It is best known as a stock horse in western riding disciplines but has also appeared in many equestrian shows.

They have several spotting patterns, including: spots, snowcap, blanket with spots, leopard, snowflake, etc.

We always strongly encourage you to thoroughly check out each animal breeder you are interested in purchasing from before you make your final decision. With over 25,000 different breeders listed on this website, it is impossible for us to be able to vouch for every one!
