The American Paint Horse is a breed highly valued for its color and markings, and a favorite for its unique refinement and intelligence. They appear like a western stock horse but have a pinto spotted pattern.
The American Paint Horse comes in various colors, but more important is their distinctive white markings. While the marks vary in size, the patterns are standard. The two predominant coat patterns of Paint Horses are overo and tobiano. The overo horse has white spots across the back between the withers and tail, with all four legs are dark-colored. The tail is a solid color. The tobiano-patterned horse has a solid-colored head with a white spot at front. The legs are white, with white stockings.
The Paint horse has a firm neck, a muscular yet short back, strong legs, sloping shoulders, mid-size ears, and clever eyes. They are known for their good nature.
