Miniature donkeys are an affectionate and comical breed, forming bonds with humans much like dogs do. They are known to be the smartest of all donkeys despite their size. Their lifespan is between 25 to 35 years, occasionally more and mature height is 36 inches or under weighing between 225 and 350 pounds. Despite their size, they have no problems when foaling and are considered hardy animals that can thrive in hot and cold weather.
Their colors can be gray, brown, black, red or sorrel, spotted and frosted spotted white. Almost all of the donkeys will display a cross on their backs. These donkeys can be easily trained and easy to handle even by children thanks to their gentle disposition. They are kept as pets, used as therapy donkeys, used to pull carts, taken to county fairs, birthday parties, etc.
