cormo-sheepThe Cormo breed was developed in Tasmania and is the result of a cross between Corriedale and Saxon Merino sheep with the intent to create a more fertile, larger framed and higher wool producing breed. They produce a long stapled and high yielding fine-wool fleece that presents a great fiber uniformity which makes them highly sought after for their wool.

All Cormo sheep are polled and have a open face and a medium frame. They are fast growing and their wool is highly preferred by hand spinners, carrying a fleece of about 18-23 microns in diameter. The breed is mostly found in Australia but they also have been exported to Argentina, China, U.S.A., Italy and Belgium.

We always strongly encourage you to thoroughly check out each animal breeder you are interested in purchasing from before you make your final decision. With over 25,000 different breeders listed on this website, it is impossible for us to be able to vouch for every one! And while we do our best to ensure only the top farmers are listed here, it's always best to double check yourself.
